The story begins in West Africa, Ghana. A country with an inspiring soul, bright colours & beautiful fabrics. With the inspiration of the Ghanaian Culture, we combine the style of the streets of Ghana and the Western world.

AKWAMAN is founded in 2017 after Ekwele (Southern Cameroonian) and Jetske (Dutch) met in Accra and started a life together. With shared values and interests, they combined their experience and passion for human rights, ethical principles, fashion & sustainability and AKWAMAN was born.

Our collections were made with the original Kente prints from the Akan tribe in Ghana. In 2022 we started our first hand-dyed batik collection Let Love Lead.
